CAPE invites artists and cultural practitioners from across Cape Town and South Africa to participate in X-CAPE, the artist-led cultural initiative which will run concurrently with the TRANS CAPE exhibition, opening 24 March 2007.
In line with CAPE Africa Platform’s broad focus on contemporary African culture, X-CAPE welcomes participation from any creative genre - from exhibitions, events and performances, to street art and spoken word that coincide with the TRANS CAPE exhibition and are engaged with contemporary African creativity.CAPE supports X-CAPE providing a national and international platform for local practitions and establishing a basic framework for the development and promotion of independant events, projects and exhibitions.
X-Cape is not a curated showcase and all interested artists and institutions are invited to register to participate.
To participate please download and submit a completed registration form before 20 January 2007.
X-CAPE Registration Forms are also available from the Cape Africa Platform Offices situated at 71 Buitengracht Street, Cape Town, at any of the 18 Cape Town Tourism information centres in the Western Cape Peninsula and at selected galleries and universities nationwide.
